On the morning of June 17, the "Fuzhou University ZhanHua Industrial By-Product Comprehensive Utilization R&D Center" co-established by our college and Fujian ZhanHua Chemical Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated, marking a solid step forward in deepening industry-education integration and collaborative innovation.
Accompanied by Qiu Wenyong, Director of Qingliu County Science and Technology Bureau, Gao Longqiang, General Manager of the Company, and Yan Runcheng from the Management Committee of Qingliu Economic Development Zone, Liu Wang, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Professor Xu Kaiqin, Executive Dean, and Liu Zhaohui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, visited the enterprise's core product exhibition hall. General Manager Gao Longqiang briefly introduced the production processes, application fields of the enterprise's core products, and its zero-emission circular economy model for industrial waste. He also reviewed the company's growth from its founding to becoming a global leader in persulfates. Currently, the enterprise has become a global persulfate industry leader, a "Specialized, Sophisticated, Unique and Innovative Little Giant" recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, an enterprise with a "Single Champion" product (the first in Sanming City) by the MIIT, a national "Green Factory," and a national "High-Tech Enterprise." It also serves as a drafter of multiple national standards for persulfates and the President Unit of the Persulfate Branch of the China Inorganic Salts Association.
During the subsequent symposium, General Manager Gao Longqiang extended a warm welcome to the Fuzhou University delegation, emphasizing that technological innovation is the core driving force for enterprise development. "Establishing a joint R&D center with Fuzhou University is our strategic choice to break bottlenecks and lead the future," he stated. Secretary Liu Wang highly commended the enterprise's remarkable achievements and proposed that both sides could establish a more comprehensive, close, and in-depth cooperation through the national science and technology park model. Dean Xu Kaiqin introduced the college's strong disciplinary capabilities, characteristic research directions, and outstanding advantages in talent cultivation and basic research. Deputy Secretary Liu Zhaohui added that in-depth cooperation with enterprises would provide valuable practical and employment platforms for our students. Finally, Director Qiu Wenyong expressed the hope that this cooperation could serve as an opportunity to provide talent and technical services for Qingliu and even more enterprises in Sanming on a broader scale.
The establishment of the "Fuzhou University ZhanHua Industrial By-Product Comprehensive Utilization R&D Center" not only provides our faculty and students with a research platform and practical battlefield facing industrial frontiers but also injects strong basic research support into the enterprise. The center will focus on joint research into the separation, purification, and high-value utilization of industrial by-products such as water, gas, and slag in the enterprise's production process, committing to solving common key technical challenges in the industry and promoting the rapid industrialization of innovative achievements. Both sides will jointly explore new models for talent cultivation, precisely align with industrial needs, and cultivate high-quality composite talents.
This inauguration represents a vivid practice of deepening industry-education integration and serving the innovation-driven development strategy. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, the joint R&D center will become an important engine driving industrial upgrading, contributing robust momentum to the development of the chemical industry in the region and even the whole country!
